A native of Norwalk, Jeff was a local standout junior tennis player
while attending Norwalk High School. His junior success earned him a tennis
scholarship to the NCAA Division I Old Dominion University in Virginia. Jeff
has competed professionally and over the past two decades has taught at many
area Fairfield County clubs. In 1999 he moved to Fort Myers, Florida and for
the next ten years was the Director of Tennis at two prestigious country clubs.
Additionally, he participated in the Fort Myers/Naples Pro League and was
undefeated in the #1 doubles position. In 2008 Jeff and his family moved to
Ohio where he was the Director of Tennis at Western Reserve Racquet Club
and directed several national USTA junior tournaments, as well as running over
45 USTA teams. He also found time to coach the Ladies 4.0 Ohio State
Championship team. Jeff, his wife Lora and their two children recently moved
back to Fairfield County to be closer to their families. This past summer Jeff
was the Senior Head Professional at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough,
New York and is currently a teaching professional at Kings Highway Tennis Club
in Darien.
Lora Belcher, Head

A Native of Darien, Lora (Suttile) Belcher was a local standout
nationally ranked junior while attending Darien High School. Her junior success
earned her a full tennis scholarship to the top 20 ranked NCAA Division I
University of Kentucky in Lexington. During her collegiate career Lora was
ranked among the top 100 in singles, was a finalist at the Rolex Invitational
and participated in the NCAA team Championships at Stanford University. During
this period she competed against top WTA players such as Lindsay Davenport and
Lisa Raymond. Following graduation she competed profesionally and then became the
Graduate Assistant Women’s Coach at the University of Illinois while
working on a degree in Sports Management. Over the years Lora has taught tennis
at many clubs in Fairfield County, Florida and Ohio. While in Florida she
competed in the Fort Myers/Naples Pro League and was undefeated in the #1 mixed
doubles position. After moving back to Fairfield County in 2010 Lora has taught
at Milford Indoor Tennis Club and is currently a teaching professional at Kings
Highway Tennis Club in Darien and Shippan Racquet Club in Stamford.
John Jayakumar, Tennis Pro
A native of Philadelphia was a ranked player in Philadelphia, ranked as
high as 34 in Middle States section under 18, which included Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Jayakumar received a scholarship
to ErskineCollege in Due West, SC which was ranked
Top 40 in the nation in Division II. While at Erskine he received 2x Honorable
Mention in the Carolinas-Virginia Conference and achieved a top 25 national
ranking in doubles and a top 10 regional ranking in doubles. His coaching
career included 6 summers of teaching at internationally recognized and
renowned Julian Krinsky Summer Camps and Programs, where he ahs held group
leader and site director positions, after his summer camps John spent two years
at Mystic Indoor Tennis Club and most recently spent this past summer at
Rockridge Country Club in Newtown, CT where he held the Assistant Director
position, and is currently a teaching professional at Kings Highway Tennis club
in Darien, CT.
Chris Martin, Tennis Pro
A native of Darien, Chris was ranked top 50 in the boys 18 and under New England section. At Darien High School, Chris was a part of three state championship teams and was named both first team all state and first team all FCIAC in his junior and senior years. He is currently a rising sophomore at Stonehill College, an NCAA Division II school located in Easton, MA. During his freshman year at Stonehill, Chris was named all conference for both singles and doubles in the NE-10; he was also named to the NE-10 all rookie team. Before joining the Roxbury Club tennis staff, he was a Tennis Professional at the American Yacht Club in Rye, NY for four years.
