Lap Swimming

Lap Swimming

Traditional lap swimming in designated lanes is available for members of all ages. The designated lap lane schedule can be found on the Aquatics bulletin board in the pool pavilion breezeway. The best availability is weekday mornings from 8:30am to 9:30am, weekend mornings from 9:00am to noon, and evenings throughout the week from 5:30pm to closing.

NOTE: changes in the lap lane schedule may be required due to club events. Lap swimming rules are as follows:

  • Designated lap lanes cannot be reserved and are on a "first come – first swim" basis.
  • To maximize use of the designated lap lanes during peak usage times we require lap swimmers to share lanes by swim speeds.
  • Lap swimmers should swim in counter clockwise circles when 3 or more swimmers are sharing a lane.
  • When members are waiting there is a maximum time limit of 60 minutes in a lap lane.
  • When designated lap lanes are not occupied by lap swimmers these lane(s) may be used for general swimming and play.
  • If you would like to swim laps, and see recreational swimmers in a designated lap lane, please ask a lifeguard or the Pool Manager on Duty to clear the lane.
  • During swim practices, when no lap swimmers are present on the pool deck, the coaches are authorized to expand their team practice into the unused lap lane(s) until such time a club member requests the lane for lap swimming.  If this occurs, simply notify a coach on your arrival and he/she will move the team swimmers out of the designated lap lane(s) as soon as possible.
